More Gorge-ous Pictures

It has taken me a while to get these pictures up because I had to make room for them on my computer--which meant transferring lots of files to my external harddrive (which can be a very tedious process when things aren't organized!). All of these pictures are from the hike to Wind Mountain that we took on our 3-year anniversary (5/14) at the Columbia River Gorge.
We came across some very cool wildflowers and I probably spent 10 minutes shooting them. I think the time was well-spent!

Busy

Lately, life has been very busy! From Real Estate training in Tigard to working at the branch, it often feels like there's not a lot of time to unwind and do the things we want to do. Katie has also been very busy up to the last few days. Now that the thesis is behind her, she is taking a short, well-deserved break before beginning the full-time job hunt this coming week. I am so proud of her for earning her Master's Degree!

Since I've posted last, Katie and I celebrated our 3 years of togetherness. As mentioned in the last post, she surprised me with tickets to Yanni. It was a phenomenal concert and I feel so fortunate to have been able to see him perform live. His music seems to show up at just the right time (when life gets hard or stressful), which I find really helps me put things into perspective.

I edited it out of the audio clip, but Yanni likes to preface some of his songs with a little story. For the song below--One Man's Dream--he mentioned how it embodies his hope for humankind (and an end to global conflict).

30 minutes from home

Yesterday we drove to to Multnomah Falls--a great nature park in the town of Corbett. At only 30 minutes away from our home, it made for a nice day trip. The hike was only 1 mile, but there were 11 switchbacks and the path was steep. It was worth it, however, as we got to see one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Oregon.

Retreat

Just booked a retreat to the Columbia Gorge!

Katie and I will be celebrating 3 years together next month and, like last year, we've decided on a nice retreat to get away from city living to unwind. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll get to enjoy a complete lack of responsibility for a couple of days. Here's an image:

Looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend :)
